Project Overview
Using the line-art technique accredited to Patrick Seymour, I created a visual that best captures the essence of the Algerian French artist Soolking and
his music.
Design Choices
I applied a gradient across all elements using purple, dark pink and light pink. Purple can be considered to be a cold or warm colour as it is a mix of red and blue. Similarly, Soolking’s music is based on the warm tones of Algerian Raï and Arabic from his homeland, combined with the coolness and sleekness of French rap, making all of his songs upbeat and huge hits.
I used repeated lines that follow the same movement as the letter S, setting the energy and mood of Soolking’s music. For the image, I used Photoshop to add a colour fill of purple with a linear burn effect to set a warm tone across the image.
